Below are funding opportunities that become available throughout the year.

Virginia Homeless Solutions Program (VHSP): Offered at the state level by DHCD; a Homeless and Special Needs Housing (HSNH) funding source that supports the development and implementation of localized emergency crisis response systems with housing-focused, coordinated community-based activities.

CoC Program Competition: Offered at the federal level by HUD; the program provides funding for efforts by nonprofit providers and state and local governments to quickly rehouse individuals and families experiencing homelessness, as well as promotes access to and utilization of mainstream programs by those experiencing homelessness.

Each year, BRACH submits an application to HUD’s CoC Program Competition. The full 2021 application can be downloaded below.

Vibrant Community Fund: Offered at the local level by the City of Charlottesville; supports local or regional transformational community-based projects including affordable housing and community and/or economic development components.

Agency Budget Review Team Process: Offered at the local level by Albemarle County; a process by which a group of citizen volunteers and local government staff review and score agency/program applications for funding.
